Just for today, I shall accept my blessings (I will be grateful).
Just for today, I will be at peace (I will not be angry).
Just for today, I will respect all life (I will honor my ancestors, my mother and father).
I have been practicing Reiki since 1996. It is what my grandmother and her grandmother did when healing was necessary: lay their hands on the part of your body that was hurting and let the energy of love flow through.
Since my first Reiki session, I have come to deeply appreciate this gentle way of working with universal energy and the body's innate wisdom. In my teaching, I ask students to integrate the principles as part of their daily life through meditation and practical application. Only after this has been done do I perform attunements and/or initiations. Living the principles is a minute-by-minute meditation on divine love, patience, forgiveness, compassion, and respect.
