Welcome. The goal of this site is to share with you (1) the practices, services, and resources I offer as a healer-teacher working with and through Spirit in the orisa/orisha tradition; (2) the life lessons I have learned (and continue to learn) on this spiritual journey, especially as they relate to change, changing, and letting go; and (3) my published writings which help me process and articulate my spiritual journey within a larger historical and cultural context. I am committed to sharing the tools that I have developed through guidance by Spirit. To that end, you will find resource links that focus on everything from the Middle Passage to mindfulness. My blog (Oya Acompanha Mim) will be the place where you can find short, but more personal writings about my spiritual journey.
focuses on the recovery of ancestral memory from the Earth and human body. A session with me may include one or more of the following healing services: divination, reiki, nomena, reflexology, yoga, meditation, chakra balancing, sound, crystals/stones, oils, and movement. Sessions may be conducted on site or long distance. In addition, because change, death, and dying are constants in our lives, I try to help others develop tools to use these occurrences as paths for deeper spiritual transformation. This may include midwifing someone through the death process and/or helping their loved ones develop rituals and ceremonies to bring closure to the transition. It may also mean helping someone reconnect to their ancestral energy. For the living, it means creating pathways to "go with the flow" and "let go" before the tornado of change pulls us away from our center. I serve all communities and genders, but maintain a special focus on women and people of the black African Diaspora communities (descendants of the transatlantic slave trade). It is my belief that the codes for a person's destiny are stored in his or her body. I view the body as a divining tool, a repository of past, present, and future lives. Sometimes, we even carry the lives and memories of others. By listening to the body's memory wisdom, we can learn who we were, who we think we are, and who we could or might become.
how to let go of outdated visions and versions of ourselves so we can pursue the next step of our spiritual growth.
